Celebrate Your SELF Love This February

Self Love & Self Awareness

Women who invest in themselves go further!

With Valentine’s Day in our rear view, we thought we would shift the conversation from the ever so thrilling candy, cards and romance😉 and take the opportunity to discuss something we believe is just as important, and maybe a little bit more! Something that not only gets overlooked during this holiday, but unfortunately most of our lives as well.

We want to talk about Self-Love.

Now, I know some of you reading this probably just rolled your eyes at the thought, while other eyes lit up with excitement. Whether you’re someone who has rarely or never considered the importance self-love or someone who is a self-love guru, hopefully we can share something insightful and enlightening with you!

First and foremost, no matter if your single, ready to mingle, in a relationship, married or happily independent finding a sense of love, appreciate and self-worth for one’s self doesn’t come from or even begin with anyone else’s ideas, opinion or judgments of us. We believe it starts by owning and accepting our personal stories, what they have taught us and what strengths we have gained because of them! It’s acknowledging that everything we’ve been through has come with some sort of lesson which has helped shape us, but that it also doesn’t have to define us!

This isn’t something that happens overnight but eventually this self-awareness helps us get to that place in life where we’re able to look to OURSELVES for acceptance, guidance, and validation and learn we can trust our gut intuitions before anyone else and let me tell you, WHAT A FEELING!!

Of course, this takes time and effort and the ability to get real and honest with ourselves, but when you start to experience how positivity this can influence your confidence, self-esteem and eventually life, you start to understand what the hype around this Self-Love stuff is all about!

Want to become more Self Aware?

(Here are a couple of thing that have worked for us...)

1. Look at yourself objectively

-Get to know your real self- no preconceived notions or judgements

-Write out your perceptions

-Strengths & weaknesses

-Proud of, accomplishments

-Childhood; what made you happy then

2. Keep a journal

-Write something every day

-Thoughts, feelings, success, failures

-Personal experience

3. Goals, plans and priorities

-Write them down. (SMART= Specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely)

-Set intentions

-Break big goals down into mini ones

4. Daily Self Reflection

-Start with 5 minutes and gradually increase

-Include in your journal or just have some quiet time along

5. Meditation and -Mindfulness Habits

-Meditation

-Being in Nature

-Grounding

6. Take personality and psychometric tests

-To validate what you think your traits are

-Myers Brigg Test

7. Ask a trusted friend to describe you

-Be willing to hear what they have to say

-Be careful who you ask

Happy Soul and Self-love searching....

-xoxo Tana & Aly
